The Corporate Ratings team at S&P Global Ratings delivers independent credit opinions across a broad portfolio of credits in Brazil and South American markets, partnering with issuers and investors to support transparent, informed decision-making. The team values analytical rigor, collaboration, and a commitment to continuous improvement, working with AI-powered tools and experienced credit professionals to strengthen the quality and efficiency of analytical delivery.
Responsibilities and Impact
Team Contribution & Capability Building
Serve as an analytical role model for junior analysts, contributing to a culture of coaching, structured feedback, and continuous process improvement.
Core Analytical & Delivery
Manage rating surveillance on a portfolio of up to 15 credits, primarily in Brazil and across other South American countries, ensuring timely and well-supported credit assessments.
Lead new transaction and issuer rating analysis using AI-powered analytical tools and automated data validation systems.
Present independent analytical findings and rating recommendations to credit committees with clear, evidence-based rationale.
Stakeholder & Market Engagement
Build and maintain strong relationships with issuers and senior management, delivering a consistent standard of service to all stakeholders.
Actively participate in publishing and investor outreach activities that support S&P Global Ratings' engagement with market participants.
What We're Looking For
Required Skills and Experience
An S&P Global employee at this level would typically have 3+ years of relevant experience in financial analysis within a rating agency, commercial or investment bank, asset management firm, or audit firm.
Demonstrated ability to analyze financial statements, apply accounting concepts, and prepare detailed financial models using Excel.
Demonstrated experience reviewing and interpreting legal transaction and debt documentation.
Demonstrated experience managing, interpreting, and synthesizing financial data for analytical purposes, with a high standard of accuracy under tight deadlines.
Language requirements: English — Required, Fluent (able to conduct meetings, collaborate effectively, and communicate clearly in writing and verbally). Spanish — Preferred, Professional working proficiency (able to communicate clearly at work in everyday situations and write professional messages).
Preferred or Helpful Experience
Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent required. A master's degree or professional certification (such as CFA) is highly valued. We welcome candidates from traditional finance disciplines as well as diverse academic backgrounds that support innovative and critical thinking.
Experience with data analytics platforms such as Bloomberg Terminal, FactSet, or similar financial data systems.
Experience using automation tools such as Python, R, or advanced Excel/VBA for financial modeling or data processing.
Experience with AI-enhanced credit analysis tools or machine learning applications in financial services.
Experience mentoring or coaching junior analysts within an analytical or financial services environment.
Additional Information
We require all candidates who reach the final stage of our interview process to attend at least one in-person interview, which is ordinarily at your nearest S&P Global Ratings office. This must be completed before we can proceed to an offer.
Employees are required to work from the office a minimum of two days per week.
