Job Description:
DB Global Technology is Deutsche Bank’s technology centre in Central and Eastern Europe. Since its set-up in 2013, Bucharest Technology Centre (BEX) has constantly proven its capacity to deliver global technology products and services, playing a dynamic role in the Bank’s technology transformation.
We build talented and diverse teams to drive business results. We welcome applications from talents from all cultures, countries, races, genders, sexual orientations, abilities, beliefs, and generations.
As part of one of the internationally staffed, agile teams of the Private Bank OneMIS, you will be part of the "Inbound/Global and Reporting OneMIS" teams. The primary mission of this platform is to develop and deliver complex data warehousing, reporting, and analytics solutions for the Private Bank. This ensures the provision of essential data for operational and analytical purposes, aligned with the OneMIS vision.
The PB OneMIS is a new, strategic data platform based on the Google Cloud Platform. We collaborate closely with Google to implement Deutsche Bank's cloud strategy, aiming to build new solutions directly in Google Cloud.
As Scrum Master of one of our teams, you will operate as a team player and change agent with a passion for working with people and teams to help them deliver their best work. Your role is crucial in facilitating change through the Agile methodology, ensuring the team understands and applies Scrum theory, practices, rules, and values, leading standard Agile ceremonies, and coordinating releases.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure that Tribe and Squad goals are understood by everyone in the Squad, especially within the context of the Private Bank OneMIS's strategic vision and the OneMIS objectives.
- Collaborate closely with the Product Owner and the team to ensure a healthy, prioritized product backlog is maintained, with particular attention to technical milestones and requirements for data integration and OneMIS deliveries.
- Facilitate agile ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Sprint Review, Sprint Retrospective), ensuring they are effective and proactively addressing technical impediments and integration challenges.
- Support the Squad in continuously improving the effectiveness of their incremental delivery of value to clients & stakeholders, focusing on quality, stability, and compliance with Google Cloud platform technical standards.
- Deeply understand the technical context of the supported teams, including system architecture, applied agile frameworks, environmental constraints (e.g., Google Cloud Platform), and the technical implications of deliveries.
- Proactively remove technical impediments to team success, establishing an environment where the team can be effective, and protecting the team from outside interruptions and distractions, especially during release and deployment cycles.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, ensuring that the team lives the agile values, apply agile principles, and follows agreed processes and practices, with an emphasis on optimizing CI/CD pipelines and release management processes.
- Collaborate with other Scrum Masters and Agile Coaches to continuously improve the agile process, sharing best practices in managing complex releases on cloud platforms.
- Conduct agile training, advise, facilitate, mentor, and coach agile team members and stakeholders, with a focus on understanding technical delivery processes and responsibilities within releases.
- Ensure efficient collaboration with Release Management team, from initial planning and managing technical dependencies between teams to monitoring implementation and post-deployment, within the ecosystem of Private Bank OneMIS.
- Manage technical risks associated with deliveries, ensuring clear communication to stakeholders and facilitating their mitigation.
Skills:
- 5 years+ of experience as Scrum Master or in a similar position, with a proven track record in coordinating complex software releases.
- In-depth experience in agile techniques and demonstrated success in supporting agile teams, including those with a strong technical orientation.
- Highly motivated self-starter, comfortable offering guidance and leadership, both individually and at the agile team level.
- Structured and problem-solving attitude, including identification and proactive removal of technical impediments to agile team delivery.
- Passionate about coaching and supporting people to embrace changes in their way of working, especially concerning new technologies and delivery processes.
- A continuous improvement mindset and dedication to finding new ways of working, with a focus on optimizing development and deployment cycles.
- Emotionally intelligent, calm, open-minded, and collaborative with strong people management skills: strong communication, motivating, observing, coaching, and mentoring of colleagues.
- Experience with tools for agile team management such as JIRA, Confluence, SharePoint, MS Office Package, with an understanding of how these can support release planning and tracking.
- Experience with distributed, multi-location teams, with an effective approach to coordinating technical activities and deliveries.
- Experience in financial reporting / banking environments, understanding the regulatory and compliance rigor applicable to software deliveries.
- Solid technical background and experience in the software development lifecycle (SDLC), with a strong preference for experience in cloud engineering (especially Google Cloud Platform), DevOps, CI/CD, and automation of deployment processes.
- Demonstrated experience in coordinating complex releases for software products, including planning, risk management, stakeholder communication, and managing dependencies between technical teams.
- Familiarity with modern data architectures (Data Warehousing, Data Lake, streaming) and reporting/analytics solutions, relevant to the OneMIS Platform.
