Join Morgan Stanley's Global Operational Risk Scenario Analysis team and play a pivotal role in strengthening the firm's resilience against emerging and evolving operational risks, including cyber threats, business disruptions, fraud, technology failures, and transaction errors.

As a Vice President within the Non-Financial Risk Department, you will lead the development and enhancement of the firm's Global Scenario Analysis Program, partnering closely with senior Operational Risk professionals across London, New York, and other global locations. This highly visible role offers a unique opportunity to influence risk management decisions, support regulatory compliance, drive innovation through technology and AI solutions, and contribute directly to the firm's operational risk strategy.

What you will do in the role:

Strategic Leadership & Risk Analysis

  • Lead initiatives that enhance non-financial risk measurement capabilities and generate insights for senior management and key stakeholders.

  • Drive the evolution of scenario design methodologies, quantification techniques, and analytical frameworks to improve risk assessment accuracy and business relevance.

  • Translate complex scenario outcomes into meaningful insights supporting capital adequacy, stress testing, risk appetite, and strategic decision-making and support capital processes.

  • Champion the adoption of technology, automation, and AI-driven solutions to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and scalability across the Scenario Analysis Program.

  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes, enhance data quality, and modernize analytical approaches.

  • Lead and contribute to strategic projects that strengthen the firm's operational risk management capabilities.

Program Ownership & Governance

  • Act as an owner of Scenario Analysis processes, ensuring high-quality delivery of workshops, scenario assessments, back-testing exercises, and scenario challenge activities.

  • Drive enhancements to overall NFR Measurement governance, controls, standards, and documentation while maintaining alignment with evolving regulatory expectations and industry best practices.

  • Partner with global stakeholders across Risk, Business Units, Technology, and Control Functions to ensure successful execution of the Scenario Analysis Program and NFR Measurement Activities.

Stakeholder Management & Communication

  • Prepare and deliver high-impact analysis, presentations, and risk narratives for senior leadership and key stakeholders.

  • Facilitate discussions with subject matter experts and risk professionals to challenge assumptions, validate outputs, and support informed decision-making.

  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to building a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.

What you will bring to the role:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Business, Risk Management, or another quantitative discipline.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an ability to interpret complex datasets, identify emerging trends, and communicate findings effectively.

  • Demonstrated leadership capability, with experience managing or mentoring teams and driving cross-functional initiatives.

  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with confidence engaging senior audiences and influencing decisions.

  • A proactive mindset with a passion for innovation, process improvement, and delivering measurable business impact.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Understanding of operational risk concepts, risk measurement methodologies, scenario analysis, stress testing, and risk management frameworks.

  • Experience within financial services, risk management, consulting, analytics, or a related field is advantageous.

  • Interest and enthusiasm for leveraging emerging technologies, automation, and AI to solve business challenges.
