The S&P Global Ratings Event Marketing team manages more than 600 virtual and in-person meetings, webinars, and third-party events annually, ranging from intimate roundtables to multi-day conferences with 600 or more attendees. The team partners closely with Commercial, Analytical, Market Outreach, and Marketing stakeholders to deliver client-focused events across the United States, and values operational precision, initiative, and a collaborative approach to event execution.
Responsibilities and Impact
Event Planning & Stakeholder Partnership
Lead collaborative event planning with Commercial, Analytical, Market Outreach, and Marketing stakeholders across assigned sectors, overseeing hosted events and contracted components of third-party association events.
Oversee pre- and post-event communications with clients, speakers, and stakeholders, and coordinate with venues before and after events to ensure precise and consistent execution.
Collaborate with global event marketing partners to align best practices across regions, and ensure compliance with insurance, legal, health, and safety requirements.
Event Operations & Execution
Manage all logistics for events of varying size and format, including vendor communication, registration, on-site execution, staffing, attendee tracking, presentation support, and AV specifications.
Manage event budgets with financial discipline; track and report on the event calendar and pipeline; and develop repeatable operational templates and processes that improve efficiency and reduce manual work.
Apply AI-enabled tools, automation platforms, and data analytics to event scheduling, attendee insights, workflow efficiency, and post-event evaluation.
Compensation / Benefits Information
S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $71,000 to $107,000 USD. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual's geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses, and certifications. What We're Looking For
Required Skills and Experience
An S&P Global employee at this level would typically have 5 to 8 years of relevant experience in event marketing, event management, or integrated event operations.
Demonstrated experience managing end-to-end virtual and in-person event execution simultaneously, across events of varying scale and complexity.
Demonstrated experience managing event budgets, negotiating vendor value, and reviewing and communicating contract terms, risks, and cancellation policies to stakeholders.
Demonstrated experience developing operational standards, templates, or repeatable processes for event management workflows.
Effective written and verbal communication skills, with experience managing senior stakeholder relationships and coordinating with speakers, clients, and vendor partners.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint, and Excel, and demonstrated experience applying AI tools or automation platforms to event workflows.
Preferred or Helpful Experience
Experience with event management platforms such as Cvent, On24, Marketo, or Salesforce.
Experience with Adobe Suite or Canva for event materials and visual brand support.
Experience with sponsor relationships, client event fulfillment, or registration management.
Knowledge of New York City venues and experience with venue sourcing.
Experience in financial markets or professional services environments.
Additional Information
We require all candidates who reach the final stage of our interview process to attend at least one in-person interview, which is ordinarily at your nearest S&P Global Ratings office. This must be completed before we can proceed to an offer.
Employees are required to work from the office a minimum of two days per week.
