Country Manager – Egypt, Lebanon & Syria 

Role Responsibilities: The Country Manager is responsible for leading and growing the business across Egypt, Lebanon, and Syria. This role has full accountability for country performance, including revenue growth, profitability, customer satisfaction, operational excellence, people leadership, digital transformation, retail excellence, and strategic execution. The Country Manager will develop and implement country business plans, strengthen key customer and partner relationships, drive omnichannel growth strategies, and ensure alignment with regional and global business objectives. 

Role Responsibilities 

Business Leadership & Growth 

  • Develop and execute country business strategies to achieve revenue, profitability, and market share objectives 

  • Identify and capitalize on new business opportunities across assigned markets.  

  • Drive sustainable business growth through customer acquisition, retention, and expansion initiatives.  

  • Monitor market trends, competitive activities, retail landscape shifts, and digital commerce developments to inform strategic decisions.  

  • Champion omnichannel business models integrating physical retail and digital platforms to enhance customer engagement and revenue growth. 

Financial Management 

  • Own country P&L and ensure achievement of financial targets.  

  • Develop annual budgets, forecasts, and strategic business plans.  

  • Monitor business performance and implement corrective actions where required 

  • Ensure efficient resource utilization and cost management.  

  • Drive investment decisions that support digital capability development and long-term business growth. 

Customer & Stakeholder Management 

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, partners, distributors, and government stakeholders. 

  • Act as the primary executive representative for the company within the assigned countries. 

  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and service excellence.  

Operational Excellence 

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, retail partners, distributors, digital ecosystem partners, and government stakeholders.  

  • Act as the primary executive representative for the company within the assigned countries.  

  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and service excellence across both retail and digital channels.  

  • Foster strategic partnerships that accelerate market penetration and digital adoption. 

Strategic Planning 

  • Translate regional strategies into executable country plans and support the send regions. 

  • Identify risks and opportunities and develop mitigation strategies.  

  •  Collaborate closely with regional and global teams to ensure business alignment.  

  • Develop market entry, expansion, and transformation strategies to strengthen the company's retail and digital footprint across Egypt, Lebanon, and Syria. 

 

Role Requirements 

  • Strong background in the money transfer, remittance, payments, fintech, or financial services industry. 

  • Mandatory experience in digital and retail-focused businesses, with a strong track record of driving commercial growth, customer acquisition, and market expansion. 

  • Proven experience managing multi-country operations, ideally across growth markets, with responsibility for both inbound and outbound business performance. 

  • Demonstrated experience managing business activities across three or more countries, with the ability to navigate diverse regulatory, commercial, and cultural environments. 

  • Experience in digital channels, digital transformation, and omnichannel business models is highly preferred. 

  • Experience with digital wallets, mobile payments, or wallet-based financial solutions is strongly preferred. 

  • Deep knowledge and hands-on business experience in Lebanon is essential; candidates must demonstrate a successful track record of operating and growing businesses in the Lebanese market. 

  • Strong commercial acumen with proven ownership of revenue growth, profitability, and P&L management. 

  • Ability to build and maintain strategic relationships with partners, agents, distributors, regulators, and government stakeholders. 

  • Excellent strategic planning, negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills. 

  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% of the time across Lebanon, Egypt, Syria, and other assigned markets.
