This role leads the Finance and Actuarial Transformation workstream for Chubb Life. It is based in Hong Kong with a dual-reporting line to Chubb Life Asia Regional Controller and the Head of Global Finance Transformation.
You will champion Finance and Actuarial transformation by collaborating with stakeholders to conduct feasibility studies, revamp process flows, and optimize systems. You will assess the existing Operating Model, financial processes and policies to identify improvement opportunities. Your role will be responsible for all areas of Finance and Actuarial transformation. This individual will provide leadership and hands on delivery to drive the transformation of Chubb Life’s Finance and Actuarial functions, including leading, tracking, participating in, and coordinating project deliverables (on time, on budget and with tracking of planned benefits).
The ideal candidate should be a strategic problem-solver, proven delivery manager, experienced at leading teams through change and would preferably have an accounting background (HKICPA, ACCA, or equivalent) with a bachelor's/master's degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Provide commercial insight, and Finance and Actuarial operational expertise, drive the simplification and standardization of systems and processes for Life whilst enhancing the control environment
- Ensure delivery of a fit for purpose Target Operating Model for the Finance and Actuarial functions, including end-to-end process designs
- Build effective relationships with the ability to appropriate influence across a wide (matrix) stakeholder group, and broader the Finance and Actuarial function
- Plan, deliver and the Finance and Actuary transformation deliverables and ensure they are adopted by the end users. Identify and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate benefits post-implementation.
- Develop and deliver solutions to improve business insight and our ability to meet business and reporting obligations
- Implement appropriate controls to ensure quality solutions that meet the business requirements
- Resolve challenges/risks, including follow up with teams to ensure timely reply and/or action
- Develop, prioritize and maintain the roadmap and to drive speed-to-market and business impact
Experience Required
- Minimum of 15+ years direct experience in Finance and Actuarial, delivery and change roles in Insurance
- Ability to engage with and influence senior stakeholders
- Excellent general business knowledge, problem-solving skills and understanding of various aspects of business operations with the associated financial data and financial reporting systems, with demonstrable capability to understand and analyze complex concepts and articulate big picture perspective
- Highly developed leadership skills, having extensive experience working within a matrix organization with both direct and indirect reporting influence, to effectively collaborate, leverage and lead teams / individuals across multiple geographies.
- People / project management experience to lead, manage and develop professional staff combined with impeccable verbal/ written communication skills presenting and working with a variety of technical and non-technical audiences including senior executives.
- Strong business acumen, self-motivated, result-oriented, strong communication skills.
Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration or related.
- Professional qualification in accounting or actuarial (CPA, CA, CMA or CFA).
- Project Management and Product Management certifications preferred
