Details of the Division and Team:
Treasury plays a key role in the holistic bank-wide management of capital and liquidity to deliver high value risk management decisions and support strategic goals of the businesses, both at a Group and legal entity level. Treasury operates across the globe with major hubs in Frankfurt, London, Singapore, and New York.
Key responsibilities for Treasury are to make sure that there is enough liquidity in the bank at any point in time, that there is capital available when needed and that funds can be raised as and when necessary, all at a reasonable cost whilst balancing the needs of business growth and regulatory demands. Treasury's role extends to business steering through the effective transfer pricing of these liquidity and capital resources to the businesses.
The role is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will be an independent and self-motivated contributor to the regional Treasury team and the local franchise. The candidate is required to demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of Financial Markets, Treasury products, systems, and regulations. The candidate is expected to bring solid stakeholder management, people management, and leadership skills in addition to product related technical skills. The key stakeholders for the role will be country management, front office business heads and business managers, infrastructure partners, and our banking regulators. The position requires an experienced and confident individual with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly and develop working relationships across the bank.
Globally, DB Treasury maintains close interaction across all regions and core functions. This role will require the candidate to build relationships and leverage contacts throughout the DB Group to be successful.

Your key responsibilities:
Based in Riyadh, the candidate will be responsible for:
- Chairing the Asset & Liability Committee for DB Saudi Arabia, UAE and Qatar, which includes setting the agenda and ensuring that business strategy, risk appetite and regulatory requirements are adequately considered when managing capital, liquidity, and funding.
- Managing the structural term asset and liability profiles through the Funding Planning process
- Management of the regulatory cash, central funding pool for the Bank, Funds transfer pricing for assets and liabilities (o/n to term)
- Ensuring Treasury actively and efficiently manages excess cash and risk to maximise NII for the bank.
- Overseeing the management and perform back up role for local funding Pool for the Bank
- Local ongoing management, development, and implementation of changes in Funds Transfer Pricing and Liquidity Management methodologies
- Interacting with the local regulators on Treasury topics, including lobbying, as required
- Understanding the local regulatory environments as they relate to Treasury, ensuring the Treasury team and business are always appraised of developments and changes, together with the impacts to the local business.
- Assisting businesses in achieving their objectives within the Bank’s risk management framework
- Engaging with clients on a variety of topics and accompanying business on client meetings
- Undertaking various projects relating to implementing of new regulations, launching new products, exploring innovative ways of conducting ongoing businesses efficiently as well as out of the box thinking to implement new strategies for Treasury management to ensure compliance with new regulations
Your skills and experience:
- Relevant degree in Banking, Finance, Economics, Mathematics (or related discipline) with 10 years or more of Treasury experience.
- History of experience in liquidity management, balance sheet or asset & liability management and Treasury topics (or equivalent track record) within a business or infrastructure function in a banking environment
- Deep understanding of local markets across interest rate and FX products.
- Strong understanding of banking industry and regulatory environment. (Knowledge of local financial markets is preferred).
- Strong understanding of key Capital and Liquidity regulations impacting banks in Saudi Arabia, UAE and experience in actively managing them on an ongoing basis.
- A history of taking initiative and being pro-active.
- Strong control mind-set
- Exceptional verbal and written communication and presentation skills (proficiency in MS Office - MS Excel, MS word, and MS Power Point).
- Exceptional stakeholder management skills and building relationships with senior business and other leaders across various functions, both within and outside the bank, including regulatory engagements
- Ability to influence, negotiate and constructively challenge at a variety of levels.
- Ability to work well under pressure and tight deadlines, have the aptitude to synthesize large amounts of information and develop innovative solutions.
- Ability to multitask, excellent problem resolution and time management skills. Ability to meet the challenges presented by a fast paced, constantly changing work environment.
